- סוּגְיָא, סוּגְיָיאII, m. (סְגֵי) 1) walk. Sabb.66b top לתרוצי ס׳ הוא דעביד Ms. M. it (the cane) serves merely to direct the walk (not as a support). 2) (cmp. הֲלָכָה) study, lesson, subject; practice, usage. Num. R. s. 12; Lam. R. to I, 3, v. בְּזַז I, a. גְּזַז. Snh.6a סוּגְיָין דעלמא (Ms. M. ס׳ דשמעתתא בעלמא) the general practice (as regards that subject).(Yalk. Prov. 935 סגיי סוגייא, v. סוּג ch.Koh. R. to V, 8 סוּגַיָּא, v. סִיגָא.
